Brent & tammy weddle

Brent is a long time resident of the Independence/Blue Springs area and graduated from Blue Springs High School. He then went into the painting business with his father, Dave.

Tammy moved to Kansas City when she was three years old, and though she's lived everywhere from Brookside to Overland Park, she spent most of her childhood in Olathe, Kansas. She graduated from Olathe High School (when there was still just one!) and started a career in the insurance business. But the highlight of her life was having a beautiful baby girl, Katie.

Brent and Tammy met at the Blue Springs Bowling Alley and on their third date, Brent proposed! After a whirlwind five months, they were married and haven't looked back for thirteen years!

After retiring from a successful family painting business, Brent joined Tammy in fulfilling a dream, Captured Memories Scrapbook Store. While Tammy continues in her insurance career, Brent manages the store full time.

Tammy originally got started scrapbooking after a friend had tried for two years to convince Tammy to try it out. Eight years ago, Tammy, her mother, and her daughter traveled to China. Tammy wanted to do something special to remember the trip, so she created a scrapbook for each of them. To this day, she's still going strong and is extremely addicted to scrapbooking!

Katie, their daughter, started scrapbooking when her mom did, and even teaches classes at the store. She has an adorable baby boy, Vann. (You might see his likeness chasing a butterfly in the Captured Memories logo).
Katie also works in insurance while pursuing an education degree. Of course, she's the apple of Brent's and Tammy's eyes!

about our teachers

Sharon Ragan

Sharon has grown up and lived in Independence her whole life.  She started scrap booking when her oldest daughter Jessica was 5 years old and has continued scrap booking for the last 11 years.  Sharon married her high school sweetheart Michael.  They have two children, Jessica 16 and Anna 2.  Yep, quite a gap there!  That's a story for another time. While she loves to scrapbook, Sharon has a fondness for making cards.  Every niece and nephew she has gets a homemade card from Aunt Sharon for all kinds of occasions. They are told by their mom's to not tear it as they are opening it so that it can be used in a scrapbook someday!

Sharon is always willing to help friends and family members with their scrapbooks.   Her favorite memory that she has scrap booked in the past is her trips to London and Paris in 1999.  It was a once in a lifetime event and she'll never forget it.  Memories are that we truly have to pass down in life and what better ways to do this then scrap booking them.  She just hopes that one day both her children are as excited to preserve their children's memories as she is today.

Lisa Wombwell

Lisa has enjoyed crafting her whole life. She is married to Clay and they have a daughter, Allison. She was exposed to scrapbooking 8 years ago, but didn’t get bitten by the “scrapbooking bug” until after the birth of their daughter. For the bulk of her scrapbooking, Lisa scraps 12 x 12 albums. She loves to do smaller themed albums of various sizes to showcase her favorite photos. Her preferred style of scrapbooking incorporates a lot of pattern paper, inking, distressing, stamping and embellishing. She likes to do her own photography, though she doesn’t consider herself a photographer. In addition to scrapbooking, Lisa also loves to create one-of-a-kind altered pieces for herself,
friends and family using many of the supplies and techniques
found in scrapbooking.
